Frequently asked questions about CLEO’s Guided Pathways
1. What are CLEO’s Guided Pathways?
CLEO’s Guided Pathways are free online tools that help you fill out legal forms. They guide you through a series of questions and use your answers to generate the documents you need. The pathways also give you instructions about what to do next, like how to file your forms with the court. You can find all the pathways at stepstojustice.ca/guided-pathways-home.
The Guided Pathways don’t give you legal advice. For advice about your situation, talk to a lawyer.
2. How do I create an account?
You must create an account to save your work and come back later. To do this:
- Go to www.cleointeractivehelp.ca
- Click Create an Account
- Enter your login and contact information
- Agree to the Terms of Use and enter the 6-letter code
- Click Register
An email will be sent to you. If you can’t find it, check your spam or junk mail folder. Click the link in the email to activate your account. Then, sign into your account at www.cleointeractivehelp.ca.
3. I didn’t get the email to activate my account. What should I do?

- Go to www.cleointeractivehelp.ca
- Click Forgot Password
- Follow the steps to reset your password and activate your account
4. I started a pathway but didn’t finish. How do I save and come back later?
You can only save your work if you created an account. If you used the pathway as a guest, you can’t save your work.
To save your work and come back later:
- Click Save and Exit
- Follow the prompts to make sure your information is saved
- When you’re ready to continue, log in at www.cleointeractivehelp.ca

5. How can I access a pathway I started?
If you have an account on the system, you can go back to a pathway you started. To do this:
- Log in at www.cleointeractivehelp.ca
- Go to your dashboard and look under In Progress to find the pathway (or pathways) you started
- Click Resume
6. Why did my session time out?
For security, the system times out after 1 hour of no activity. If your work isn’t showing up on your dashboard, it probably didn’t save. It’s a good idea to save regularly and create an account so you can return later if you need to.
7. Can I change my answers after I finish the pathway?
After your forms are created, you can’t change your answers in the pathway. But, you can download the forms and make changes using a word processing program like Microsoft Word. If you haven’t finished yet, you can use the My Progress menu at the top of your screen to go back and edit your answers.
8. Where can I find my completed forms?
If you created an account, to find your completed forms:
- Log into your account at www.cleointeractivehelp.ca
- Scroll to Download Forms and Instructions on your dashboard
- Click View
You can download each form separately or all at once.
If you use the pathway as a guest without creating an account, you have to download your forms right after you finish the pathway.
9. Do the Guided Pathways give my completed forms or documents to the court or tribunal?
No, you need to take additional steps to give your completed forms or documents to the court or tribunal. When you complete a Guided Pathway, you will receive an instruction guide about next steps.
10. My account is locked. What should I do?
If your account is locked, you can use the password reset feature. See Question 11 for how to do this.
